Suppress Diagnostic Log

I can trap and suppress DXL errors by surrounding the code with noError() and lastError(). But in the serious code I'm still getting the Diagnostic errors. Is there a way to suppress that dialog mindfully, or perhaps just detect that its showing and close it?
